Alexandra Visher is the Managing Director of Strategy and Development at JUST Capital. She works closely with the CEO on JUST Capital’s business model and growth strategy, overseeing strategic development and investment, private sector partnerships, donor relations, and Board development.
Alex has deep cross-sector experience and a commitment to helping companies understand how to bring value to communities and stakeholders that extends beyond the bottom line. She most recently served in the Obama Administration as Senior Advisor and Counselor to the Under Secretary for International Trade at the Department of Commerce. As part of the senior leadership team responsible for a 2,200-person global organization, Alex was responsible for special projects, including signature initiatives like public-private partnerships through the U.S.-Africa Business Forum and the launch of a global digital attaché program to help companies navigate the digital economy and trade barriers. Previously, Alex worked as a consultant to Johnson & Johnson’s corporate philanthropy group and served as Vice President of Partner Engagement and Communications at the Democracy Alliance, a first-of-its-kind donor network where she oversaw an investment strategy that directed more than $25 million to progressive organizations.
Alex has a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, she studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, and completed the CORE program through HBX/Harvard Business School. A San Francisco native recently transplanted to New York, Alex is a registered yoga instructor with a passion for travel and culinary exploration.
