Matthew Nestler is Senior Manager, Workplace Policies Research at JUST Capital. He is responsible for developing and implementing research on issues relating to worker policy and performance, including diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), wages, health and safety, career opportunities, and other emerging worker issues.
Prior to joining JUST Capital, Matthew completed a PhD in History and an MA in Political Science at Stanford University. His research examined inflation and inequality in Brazil, focusing on social movements, worker-employer relations, food supply chains, and economic policymaking. Matthew also has private sector experience in consumer and market research and risk consulting.
Matthew received a BA in Spanish Language & Literature from Wesleyan University and an MA in the Social Sciences (MAPSS) from the University of Chicago. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently.
