Amy Shaw joined JUST Capital in August 2022 as Managing Director of Advancement. Specializing in fundraising strategy and high-net-worth donor development, Amy started her career as a grant writer and went on to raise millions of dollars for international development and poverty alleviation causes. She has also managed and co-owned private art galleries, experience that underpins her business-minded approach.
Amy joins us from Orr Group where she consulted on development campaigns, planned giving, and fundraising strategies for a range of organizations. She brings 20 years of nonprofit experience through roles including Director of Development at the research organization Innovations for Poverty Action, Northeast Region Development Director for Operation Smile, and Director of Development & Communications for Millennium Promise.
A New Hampshire native who lives in Brooklyn, NY, Amy enjoys exploring the city with her young children, visual and performing arts of all kinds, and practicing yoga and meditation. She holds a certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University, an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York University, and a B.A. in International Relations from The George Washington University.
